PERISCOPE MANAGEMENT AWARDS

Periscope's motto is “focussing on people, process and performance”. It is the yardstick by which we critically measure not only ourselves but others as well but Periscope is also more than willing to acknowledge when it sees excellence in operation.

For this reason, Periscope sponsors an award in conjunction with the Queensland Lions Soccer Club. The club's thorough approach to planning and execution saw it rewarded with a franchise in the inaugural national A – League. The team was aptly named the ROAR FC.

The Queensland Lions club is strongly underpinned by a thriving Brisbane based competition comprising 44 teams and well over 400 players. An operation of this size takes some planning and organization and a fair bit of time from the volunteer committee. Since 2004, Periscope has sponsored an award which recognizes those team managers that excel at their role. It goes without saying that whilst a team needs a good coach and players, anyone in the know realizes how much time and effort goes into successfully managing a sporting team. In a sport as demanding as Soccer (or Football as it has been recently rebadged) a good manager is a must for any team.

Award Winner Natasha Rozynski and Paul Ronis Periscope Director.

Periscope is happy to announce that the winner of the Team Manager of the Year Award was won by Natasha Rozynski. Natasha was the manager of the U15 Division 2 Team and can seen in the photo above, receiving the award at the presentation ceremony.

Interestingly enough, the prior year's winner was also another lady, Diann Heron.

Is this suggesting that the ladies are showing us a clean pair of heels when it comes to managerial excellence? Only time will tell.
